I had an orange cat named Toby who we really loved like he's our child, and that name stuck with me. I decided to make Toby the chubby orange cat that represents who I am on the internet. Banjo, on the other hand, came from the fact that I always associate my boyfriend with bears because of his scruffy beard, body frame, and personality. I gave my boyfriend the nickname Banjo a few months into our relationship, then ultimately decided to make a bear character with that name. Toby and Banjo are only two of my characters for a world I'm creating consisting of cute animal friends. I thought they'd make a great pair of plushies, and I'm really happy with how they turned out.
